What is the Crypto Fear & Greed Index?
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index measures the overall emotions and sentiments influencing the Bitcoin and broader cryptocurrency markets. The index aggregates data from multiple sources (including volatility, market momentum, social media, surveys, dominance, and search trends) to compile a score from 0 (Extreme Fear) to 100 (Extreme Greed).
Market Psychological States
- Extreme Fear (0–25): A sign that investors are overly worried. Historically, this state can signal a buying opportunity ("buy the blood").
- Greed / Extreme Greed (55–100): Suggests that the market is due for a correction as investors become overly greedy and FOMO (fear of missing out) triggers irrational buying behavior.
